Peacfeild the home that John and Abigail Adams moved to after John retired from presidency. The home was in Quincy really close to there originally home but John did not want to bring Abigail back to there other home because he wanted her to leave the pain and loneliness behind. The Peacefeild home was in the Adams family for four generations John Adams father, John Adams, John Quincy Adams then it was his son Charles Frances Adams. Charles built the stone library in the back of the home. The house has 20 rooms and lots of hallways and books. Everything in this house is all original and was used by the Adams themselves. The bed that Abigail died in in 1818 is still there and the chair that John had a stroke in is still there, John slept in the study after Abigail died because he could not bear the pain of going in the room of the love of his life and his dear partner throughout 55 years.
The First Parish Church was built by Charles Frances Adams. Where he buried his parents and Grandparents underneath the church they are still there today and the church is still in great shape.
